We are officially welcoming August today. Can you believe it? AUGUST. How is that possible?? The months fly by and although I am feeling as if I am not crossing off several goals that I set for myself I am learning a bit. And you know what? I think that’s just as important. Even though I haven’t been overly ambitious this summer I still like to plan ahead and choose some goals to work towards. Today I’ll be sharing those with you.
I can’t start without sharing some accountability for the past month. Here’s how I measured up this past month:
Check! Taking a vacation forces you to get organized and I did. I had some posts and graphics completed prior to leaving and it definitely helped insure that I was able to relax and enjoy my time away.
Interact on Insta
Eh. Somedays were better than others. I love Instagram (you can find me here) and often check in several times a day when I have a moment to spare. Those free moments don’t leave lots of time to go in depth and truly interact as much as I would like to. Regardless, Insta remains my favorite social media platform.
Big fail here and you know what? I’m perfectly okay with that. It’s so much time and effort and it turns out that I don’t want to use my resources to make that happen right now. Summer is here and I want to detach a bit. No regrets over zero progress on this goal.
Clean Up Pinterest
Didn’t get to this one either. I intended to make some boards secret as they don’t reflect my blog’s topics but you know what? I’m not. They may not go with the direction of what my blog is but they still are reflections of interests I have so the boards are staying.
Nailed it! Loved it! Aced this one completely. No guilt at all over sitting back. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was refreshing, rejuvenating, and opened my eyes to lots of things. I needed this one more than I realized.
I’ve been up and down with my blog lately; in between excitement and planning and questioning everything. I have some potential changes coming into my life soon and I need to evaluate where my time, money, and efforts are going.
After every vacation I strive to do this more. I read three books in a week and I loved getting the chance to catch up on some great books and I loved being able to relax and enjoy a good story. I have a stack of great books waiting to be read and I can’t wait to dig in.
I’m sure you’re wondering how this can even be on my list after I have said I need to do some reevaluating. The thing is I love doing a blog series. I love choosing a broad topic and breaking it down weekly. It helps me plan ahead and it helps me go more in depth on topics I love. As of now, I don’t really have a clear cut idea as to what this series may be but I’m hoping to come up with something soon. Any ideas or topics you would like addressed? Let me know in the comments please!
I’d like to share more personal posts. Maybe open up a bit more and share more of what’s on my mind, which isn’t always easy to do for me. I’m hoping to go a little deeper on some topics and issues.
Relax and Enjoy Life More
I’m ready to walk away from the shoulds and musts of the blogging world. You know what I mean right? We should post consistently. We must be on multiple social media platforms. We should do this. We must do that. You know what? Nope. I’m not buying it anymore. The only shoulds and musts I’m listening to our mine. I should enjoy the moment. I must savor what’s in front of me before it’s too late. I should not feel guilty.
I’m really looking forward to embracing this monthly goal.
What monthly goals are you working towards?
