I’ve been blogging for just over a year now and I am amazed at all the things that I am learning. Things that once baffled me are now making sense. Yet there are three things that remain a mystery to me. I’m hoping that perhaps by coming clean with these mysteries, you can guide me resources that will help me understand them better. If nothing else, perhaps we can share in our bafflement together. Here are my three mysteries of blogging.
Google Plus is a whole new frontier that I haven’t even explored yet. Is it Google’s interpretation of Facebook and Bloglovin’ combined? You add people to circles? Huh? What? Am I missing something here? I know I am often a day late and a dollar short but is Google Plus the next big thing (or maybe it already is)? As a blogger has it helped you build your blog and your following?
I can proudly say that thanks to my switch to WordPress, S.E.O. (search engine optimization) is now at least on my radar. Call me a bad blogger but back in my days of being on Blogger I never gave it a second thought. I had heard of it, sure, but I had really never knew how to maximize S.E.O.’s potential and the ways that it could help blog growth. I am slowly learning how to make S.E.O. work for me now, thanks to the wonderful S.E.O. plugin I am using. It will be quite some time though before I can say I am fully comfortable with it. Remember the Blogger Pow Wow I participated in with some of my blogging friends? I can not wait for the next session. Christine of The So-Called Homemaker will be discussing S.E.O.
I love Pinterest. Who doesn’t? Want to learn how to do something? Cook something? Make something? Pinterest is your go-to source. As a lifestyle blogger though I am constantly questioning if my posts are Pinterest-worthy. Tutorials, recipes, and crafts definitely can be pinned. It’s the other random posts that I always wonder if it’s worth pinning. So many bloggers say that they get quite a bit of traffic from Pinterest so I feel that I have to learn how to make it work for me.
What parts of blogging mystify you?
