I remember starting out blogging and thinking that blogging in general couldn’t be that difficult. Naive me thought you simply typed out your thoughts, added a photo if you wanted and you were basically good to go. I had no idea that bloggers had a lingo all their own….platforms, buttons, link ups just to name a few.
Google quickly became my best friend. Once I made some blogging friends I was able to ask them for clarification when I needed it. To this day, I still have my go-to group of bloggers that answer questions for me when they arise. They are invaluable to me.
It got me thinking though. There has to be new bloggers out there who are just starting like we all did. Perhaps they haven’t gotten to the point of asking someone for help yet. This is where this idea for this series was born.
Once a week for the next several weeks, Lindsay and I will be discussing the basics of blogging that many of us take for granted as being well known and understood. We have 10 topics mapped out but would love to hear suggestions as to what topics you might like covered. Some of these topics include creating a button, using link ups to your advantage, creating blog graphics, the pros and cons of blogging platforms, and scheduling social media posts. If there are topics that you would like added please feel free to comment below. We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
Blogging Basics will start next Wednesday, September 2nd. We’re excited to share what we have learned and hope to instill some confidence in new bloggers.
