It’s that time again…..time for some accountability in regards to the goals I set for this little space of mine. It’s funny; I started January with gusto and had so many great ideas and plans. I still have them mind you, but I feel like I bit off more than I could chew. I did accomplish some things and the others? Well…there’s always next month right? Before I get to my February goals let’s revisit what I had hoped to accomplish this past month.
January Goals
Get Organized
I feel as if I have a pretty good handle on this. I have created a behind the scenes system for my sponsors that has kept me on track and better organized. No more wondering if I scheduled something or sent an email. I am on the ball and feeling confident.
Social Media Free Day
This was a huge one for me. I will say that I accomplished this to a slight degree. Did you happen to read the letter I wrote to my college aged daughter? Having a child living on her own hours away from me is tough. We don’t talk every day but we do text. As I promised in that letter, I do check her social media for glimpses of what she is up to. I love seeing her and her friends and little bits and pieces of her life. She was also traveling this past month and sharing daily photos of her time in California. I also have two other daughters whose social media accounts I monitor daily. So…in regards to a social media free day, I didn’t do it. I was checking on my kids. I did however, have days where I didn’t check social media for my blog. Does that count?
Set Up a New WordPress Theme
This one was a resounding success once I got a few kinks worked out. I am thrilled with it and happy to have this one behind me.
New Sponsorship Option
I feel like this goal is the one that haunts me. I am getting closer to launching this one and have the whole concept of it mapped out. I’m still trying to see if it something that will be embraced.
What I did do though (and maybe it falls under this goal) is create a group Pinterest board for my newsletter readers. Do you receive my daily and monthly newsletter? If not, sign up and you can get access to that board and be showcased as a Blogger of the Month (shameless plug, sorry).
Learn to Use My Time More Efficiently
Now that school is in full swing and I have my lunch hours to myself again, I can get more done during the day. I have started doing some batch work. For example, I sat down and created a bunch of graphics for the week. Now I can focus on content for posts. I did test out setting time frames for blogging and I think this works great. It has kept me focused on the task at hand and more productive.
February Goals
Launch a Library
This has been on my mind for awhile now and I am getting close to launching a Resource Library. I’m excited to get this going.
Finally Create the New Sponsorship Option
This month I am taking the leap…sink or swim right?
Analyze My Blog Expenses
I feel like I have lots of monthly payments being made for blogging related services. I need to analyze exactly where my money is going and what truly is useful and needed.
Sponsor Someone New
I love the people that I sponsor and thoroughly enjoy them and will sing their praises. I’d like to try someone new this month. Let me know who you suggest in the comments below please. If you’re looking for someone to sponsor let me know…I will gladly recommend some top notch bloggers.
Come Clean
I am one of those bloggers that keeps their blog somewhat hidden from local people and friends. Somehow this past month more local people are finding my blog’s social media accounts which leads me to believe they are only steps away from finding my blog. Not that it matters at all really except that I wonder what people will think. Will it be judged? Will I? It’s easier for me to write for strangers than it is for people I know. This is ridiculous, I know. I think this month will be the month that I allow people to follow me (yes I do block people…sorry). I will embrace what it is I do and share and if it’s not liked by them then that’s ok. Time to get some thicker skin. Do you have the same issues I do in relation to your blog and local people?
