Years ago I started reading blogs and I remember being in awe that bloggers opened up their lives and shared their stories with anyone and everyone. I remember reading so many of them and thinking that blogging was simple….you literally shared whatever was on your mind or happening in your world. I loved that. I loved that people’s everyday lives weren’t so mundane. I loved that there were so many people that I could relate to. I loved that the little messes of our daily lives could inspire us, humor us, and make us all seem so much closer in a world where everyone is so spread out. It showed me that there was so much to love and appreciate in the everyday. This is why I started to blog and quite honestly, the way I came up with my blog name.
Blogging, for me, was a self taught hobby. I am not technologically savvy so I learned on my own how to do quite a bit (thank you Google and Pinterest). Along the way I learned that I loved sharing tips and tutorials that helped me get to where I am today. For me, it is so much easier to write a post that has clear and concise steps on how to do something than it is to share parts of my personal world or random musings I have on a subject.
This notion had me stopping in my tracks though.
Wasn’t the reason I started blogging because I fell in love with those that did just that? Shared their worlds and thoughts?
That’s why Christine and I have paired up to create the Love the Everyday movement. See what we did there with the name?
We want this movement to be about the everyday and what is so beautiful about it. Let’s get back to talking about our lives a little more on the blog. That doesn’t mean we have to stop the DIY, tips and tutorials, and recipe posts. We just want to dedicate some time to bringing us back to why we started blogging in the first place. We want our blogs to reflect the everyday as well the other interests and topics that blogging has introduced to us.
I want to be able to talk about my hopes, my dreams, my struggles, my fears, and everything that makes life worth living. I want to talk about the beauty of the everyday.
What is Love the Everyday?
Basically, it’s a link up with no rules. Write about anything that you have going on in your life. Write about anything or nothing at all. Then come tell us about it on the second Thursday of each month.
But it’s not just the link up. It’s a hashtag too (of course). Use #lovetheeveryday on Twitter and on Instagram to tag – well, just about anything! We want to see your real lives, not just posed pictures.
