I am not what you would call a creative person. I really wish I was. I wish I had mastered using my DSLR camera, but I haven’t yet. I’d say 99% of my photos are taken with my iPhone5. Let’s face it; I always have my phone with me so I am always able to capture a moment and a memory at the drop of a hat. My major source of creativity comes in the form of photo editing apps. I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you. I’ll keep the info brief, but please feel free to email me with questions or comment below and I will get back to you ASAP.

One of my favorite all time apps is Rhonna Designs. Rhonna is ultra creative, ultra inspiring, and so uplifting. Each month, Rhonna updates the app and adds more fonts and more designs. Each font pack or design pack can be purchased for $.99 which is such a great deal.

Waterlogue is a newer app (for me at least). It takes your pictures and turns them into beautiful watercolor paintings. You have the ability to adjust the color in this app. I really like this app for its simple beauty.
Text Mask is an app that allows you to add text to your photos. You can use the fonts that come with the app or you can add your own fonts. In this photo I used a font that I purchased and loaded into the app. Text Mask allows you to adjust the opacity of the picture as well so you can see as much of it as you choose. The text can be transparent or in colors….the choice is up to you!
Pic Tap Go is my go-to app for filters. They have so many filters to choose from and you have the ability to layer filters on top of each other. You can adjust the strength of each filter and save the “recipe” for filters you use the most.

I mainly use Pic Fx to add bokeh to my photos. I am also a huge fan of using this app to make my photos look like they were printed on a canvas. This app is loaded with so many different options and filters. Combining the canvas effect in this app with the Waterlogue app would create some beautiful photos!

I use Afterlight for 2 main reasons. The first reason is to lighten photos (I did not do that in the photo below). The second reason is to use a white frame around the photo. You can’t see it here too well but if you look at my Instagram feed you will get a better idea of what I mean. It adds a nice, clean look to the photo.
Snapseed is used mainly when I want to blur out the background in a photo or focus on one aspect of the photo. When I want to achieve these effects I use center focus and tilt shift in the app.
In this photo you can see that I focused on the building in the background and slightly blurred out the rest of the picture.
Each of these apps have so many options within them…filters, frames, effects etc. These are my favorite apps. They inspire creativity and really enhance my photos.
